Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let the salmon marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally up to 1 hour for more flavor.
Preheat Your Oven: While the salmon is marinating, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy.
Bake in the Oven: Carefully flip the salmon fillets over and pour the reserved marinade over them. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
Glaze the Salmon: If desired, broil the salmon for 2-3 minutes at the end of the baking time to caramelize the glaze slightly. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven and garnish the salmon with sliced green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
Notes
For best flavor, marinate the salmon for up to 1 hour.
