In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the beef mixture into 4 equal patties.
In a skillet over medium heat, sear the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Season the potatoes with salt and pepper.
Pour the beef broth over the potatoes, ensuring they are mostly submerged.
Place the seared hamburger patties on top of the potato layer.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the patties. Bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the potatoes are tender.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add your favorite herbs or spices to the beef mixture for extra flavor.
